Narrator: Now the father rides the donkey. The son walks.
[Enter Woman]
Woman: Poor boy! The father rides and the little boy walks. So unfair!
Father: Oh no. Let’s both ride.
Son: Yes, Father.
Scene 3: A Bit Later
Narrator: Now both ride the donkey.
[Enter Farmer]
Farmer: That poor donkey! Two people on its back! You are so cruel!
Father: You are right. We will carry the donkey!
Son: What?! Carry the donkey?
Scene 4: Near the Bridge
Narrator: They tie the donkey’s legs and carry it with a pole. People laugh at them.
People: Ha ha! Look at them! Who carries a donkey?
Narrator: Suddenly, the donkey kicks! It falls into the river!
Son: Oh no! The donkey is gone!
Scene 5: Going Home
Father: We tried to please everyone. Now we lost our donkey.
Son: What should we do?
Father: We should do what we think is right — not what others say.
