Task: Create a brochure about your favourite regional heritage to inform other people about it. |
A- Group work ✅ Students list the most important cultural heritage aspects in their region. ✅ Refer students to the Starter section in this unit for more information. ✅ Elicit the cultural heritage aspects from students and list on the BB. ✅ Conduct a whole-class discussion. B- Group work ✅ Ask students to read the sample brochure: Oral traditions in Morocco and use the checklist to evaluate it. ✅ Discuss with students the different elements of the brochure. C Group work ✅ Have students follow the steps in order to create their own brochure. ✅ Remind them to use the checklist to edit their brochure. ✅ Decide on a session for students to present their projects to the rest of the class. ✅Devote some time for students to exchange their brochures and give their peers feedback. |

Task: Prepare a project about an important festival or celebration in your local area. |
✅ Students read the texts about international festivals. ✅ Get them to answer the questions about their local festival. ✅ Students compare their answers in small groups. ✅ During the correction, you may ask extra questions to elicit from students other information about the festival. ✅ Draw the students’ attention to the organization of the project: Before, during, and after the festival. ✅ Students go through each stage to answer the questions about a popular festival or celebration in their region. ✅ Tell students to write a paragraph about each stage. ✅ At home, students can complete the missing information and stick pictures to illustrate the descriptions. ✅ When the work is done, students can share their projects for feedback on the content. |
